Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla und das City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra begannen das gefeierte »The British Project« bei der Deutschen Grammophon im vergangenen Oktober mit einem E-Album von Brittens Sinfonia da Requiem.

Anfang dieses Jahres folgte eine zweite digitale Veröffentlichung mit der Symphonischen Suite aus Waltons Oper Troilus und Cressida, die die Londoner Times in ihrer Fünf-Sterne-Kritik als »überschwänglich, üppig und prächtig« bezeichnete.

»The British Project« erscheint nun auf CD, wobei die Werke von Britten und Walton von Elgars Sospiri und Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis eingerahmt werden. Das Album, das am 16. Juli 2021 erscheinen soll, zeigt die außergewöhnliche Kunstfertigkeit der litauischen Dirigentin und ihrem City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
