To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. Nino Gvetadze: »Chopin blickte zurück und beschwor für uns seine Lebensgeschichte in seinen 24 Präludien herauf. Durch das Medium dieser Werke enthüllte er seine größten Ängste und Sorgen, aber auch die Schönheit und Redlichkeit seines Herzens. Die Geschichte dieser Geister gipfelt in läutenden Glocken, die, mit Cortots Worten, ›von Blut, von irdischen Freuden, von Tod‹ zeugen. Doch was folgt? Eine Pause: Stille, zeitlose Einsamkeit, in der Étude Op. 10 Nr. 6. Dann, plötzlich, wacht die Seele auf und dreht sich im Walzer ins All. Das Album endet mit dem Scherzo Nr. 2, ›wie ein Beinhaus‹, oder Totenhaus, wie Chopin den Anfang beschrieben haben soll – doch das Finale klingt wie freudige Bejahung des Lebens. Und so endet unsere Geisterreise mit Feuerwerk, mit Lächeln und Strahlen, und blickt weit in die Zukunft...«
