"Scintilla" ist ein Science Fiction Film, der in einem geheimen, unterirdischen Labor in einem ehemaligen Soviet-Staat spielt, in dem merkwürdige Experimente stattfinden.
Saxon´s Frontmann Biff Byford lernte Lionel Hicks im Studio kennen, der diesen Film mit produzierte und so kam es zu einem Songbeitrag für diesen Film. Alle Beteiligten waren sofort Feuer und Flamme und so entstand die Idee, ein Konzept-Album, inspiriert vom Film und dessen düsteren Thema, einzuspielen.
So trafen sich Biff Byford, Lionel Hicks (Drums), Anthony Ritchie (Bass), beide "Balance Of Power" und Andy Sneap (Guitar) erneut im Studio, um das grandiose Werk einzuspielen.
