Im letzten Jahr verstarb The Fall-Sänger Mark E. Smith. 2019 kommt jetzt eine schöne Erinnerung an den Musiker und sein Werk: eine Neuauflage des Debütalbums von The Fall, und zwar als 3-CDs-Box und als LP auf rotem Vinyl.
»Live At The Witch Trials« erschien ursprünglich vor 40 Jahren, am 16. März 1979. Auch wenn der Titel es annehmen lässt, handelt es sich dabei nicht um ein Konzert- sondern um ein Studioalbum der britischen Post-Punk- und Avantgarde-Rock-Ikonen.
Es umfasst insgesamt elf Stücke, die alle innerhalb nur eines Tages im Camden Sound Suite Studio aufgenommen wurden. Die Produktion von »Live At The Witch Trials« übernahm Bob Sargeant.
Die 3-CDs-Box enthält neben dem Originalalbum eine Bonusdisc mit B-Seiten und Sessiontracks sowie eine weitere mit Liveaufnahmen aus dem Jahr 1978. Abgerundet wird das Ganze von einem Booklet mit neuen Linernotes von Autor Daryl Easlea.
Ein besonderes Reissue zum 40. Jubiläum: Hier ist »Live At The Witch Trials« von The Fall.
