Ursprünglich aufgenommen von John Lennon für sein 1970 Album John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band, wurde Bowie's Version von Mother im Jahr 1998 von Tony Visconti produziert und war für ein Lennon Tribute gedacht, dass aber nie verwirklicht wurde. Bob Dylan’s Original Tryin' To Get To Heaven wurde 1997 auf seinem mit dem GRAMMY ausgezeichnetem Album of the Year Time Out Of Mind veröffentlicht. David’s Version wurde im Februar 1998 aufgenommen während der mixing sessions für sein Album »LiveAndWell. com«.
