Wie dieses CD-Set zeigt, waren nicht nur Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Little Richard und Chuck Berry in der Lage Rock & Roll Platten zu machen. Zugegeben, die Zeit für die emanzipierten Rock & Roll Girls war in den 1950er Jahren noch nicht so richtig reif. Umso angesagter ist es, jetzt zu hören, dass die Mädels seinerzeit völlig zu Unrecht nur marginal wahrgenommen wurden. Auf diesem CD-Set erlebt man eine explosive Mischung die beweist, dass auch das weibliche Geschlecht in der Lage war dynamisch abzurocken. Neben den bekannteen Damen wie etwa Wanda Jackson und Brenda Lee „entdeckt“ man völlig unbekannte Sängerinnen, deren Songs einen mit der Zunge schnalzen lassen. Aber auch (heute etablierte) Stars wie Dolly Parton oder Jackie DeShannon starteten ihre Karriere mit überraschend rockigen Tönen. Alles in allem finden sich auf dieser einmaligen Kompilation zu 70 % ausnahmslos echte Raritäten der weiblichen Rock & Roll Zeit.
