The Troggs (ursprünglich "The Troglodytes") aus Andover / Hampshire stürmten 1966 mit "Wild Thing" die Charts. Die Gruppe mit Sänger Reg Presley beeindruckte sogar Jimi Hendrix, der später mit seiner eigenen Version des Songs Tribut zollte.
