Für dieses Rockspektakel der Extraklasse war eine Manege genau die richtige Bühne. Am 11. Dezember 1968 hatten die Rolling Stones in Originalbesetzung (also noch mit dem im Jahr darauf verstorbenen Brian Jones) in ihren großen "Rock'n Roll Circus" geladen. Dort zelebrierten sie selbst Bandklassiker wie "Sympathy For The Devil", "Jumpin' Jack Flash" und "You Can't Always Get What You Want" und lauschten Gästen wie Yoko Ono, Taj Mahal, The Who, Marianne Faithful und Jethro Tull sowie der eigens für diese Show formierten Band um Keith Richards, John Lennon (alias Dirty Mac), Eric Clapton und Jimi Hendrix-Drummer Mitch Mitchell.
Die von Regisseur Michael Lindasy Hogg einst für ein TV-Special gedrehte Dokumentation erscheint nun erstmals auf DVD im 5.1 Mix, natürlich mit umfangreichen Bonus-Material. Dazu zählen Kommentare des Regisseurs und vieler beteiligter Künstler ebenso wie ein bisher nicht gezeigter Track von Dirty Mac (alias John Lennon), drei bisher nicht gezeigte Songs von Taj Mahal sowie ein "Sympathy For The Devil"-Video im Remix von Fatboy Slim. Feuerschlucker gibt's natürlich auch zu sehen. Wir sind schließlich im Zirkus.... !
