Mit »Orfeo Chamán« widmet sich nun auch Christina Pluhar dem griechischen Mythos. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Ensemble L’Arpeggiata und dem kolumbianischen Sänger Nahuel Pennisi erzählt sie die Geschichte aus einem neuen musikalischen Blickwinkel.

Eine alte Geschichte neu erzählt
Mit »Orfeo Chamán« präsentiert die österreichische Lautenistin und Harfenistin Christina Pluhar 2016 ihre Version des berühmten Orpheus-Mythos – ein eigens für die Oper von Bogotá geschaffenes Projekt aus Gesang, Tanz und Schauspiel.Es handelt sich dabei um eine Sammlung eigener und neu arrangierter Musik verschiedenster Stile, von Barockmusik bis hin zu Volksliedern aus Südamerika und Sizilien, auf ein Libretto des kolumbianischen Dichters Hugo Chaparro Valderrama.
Die Hauptrolle übernimmt der Kolumbianer Nahuel Pennisi. Der von Geburt an blinde Gitarrist und Sänger war vor seinem Durchbruch als Straßensänger tätig. Auf »Orfeo Chamán« wird er von Christina Pluhar und ihrem im Jahr 2000 gegründeten Ensemble »L’Arpeggiata« begleitet.
Erzählt wird die Geschichte von Orpheus, dem berühmten Sänger und Dichter der griechischen Mythologie, der seine Geliebte Eurydike nach deren Tod aus der Unterwelt zurückholt, sie jedoch wieder verliert. In Pluhars »Orfeo Chamán« tritt Orpheus zudem als Schamane auf, der zum Konkurrenten seines Bruders Aristeo wird.
»Orfeo Chamán« wurde 2016 bereits bei den Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen aufgeführt und feierte dort große Erfolge. Jetzt gibt es die Musik endlich auch auf CD. Die Bonus-DVD der Deluxe-Edition enthält zudem die komplette szenische Produktion aus Bogotá aus dem Jahr 2014.
Ein Mythos im neuen Gewand: »Orfeo Chamán« ist Christina Pluhars beeindruckende musikalische Version der griechischen Legende, eng verbunden mit Motiven der lateinamerikanischen Mythologie. Eine spannende Kombination.
