ein Juwel

Diese Scheibe ist ein Juwel. Ein Juwel, weil sie eine seltene Platte dieses Trompeters darstellt u. ein Juwel, was die Besetzung, Aufmachung, Musik und Pressqualität anbelangt. Also ich kannte Smith vorher nicht, In den Linernotes lässt sich Feather interessanterweise auch darüber aus, dass es unzählige gute Jazzer gibt, die nicht bekannt sind. So auch Smith. Wieder einmal hat Blue Note einem unbekannten Musiker die Chance eingeräumt, mit einer Top-Combo eine eigene Platte einzuspielen. Am Piano taucht Clark auf, auch ein Juwel, selten und gut. Am Sax Rouse, eher bekannt von Aufnahmen mit Monk. Mr. Pc.C. und Taylor an den Drums - genial wie eh und je. Man, wie gerne wäre ich da mal dabei gewesen. Einen kleinen Live-Eindruck vermittelt das Cover.Die Aufmachung der Platte ist genial. Cover mit guten und großformatigen Bildern der Session. Die Pressung ist spitze. Super Sound. Einfach ein Juwel diese Scheibe. Echte Kaufempfehlung.
