In der LP/CD "Giant Steps" (Tracks 1 bis 7 in der obigen CD) von John Coltrane spielten John Coltrane (Tenorsaxophon), Tommy Flanagan (Piano) und nicht Wynton Kelly, wie oben angegeben, Paul Chambers (Bass) und Jimmy Cobb (Drums). Track 8: Thelonious Monk (Piano), Coltrane (Tenorsax), Wilbur Ware (Bass), Shadow Wilson (Drums). Track 9: John Coltrane (Tenorsax), Red Garland (Piano), Paul Chambers (Bass), Art Taylor (Drums). Track 10: Coltrane (Tenorsax), Lee Morgan (Trompete), Curtis Fuller (Posaune), Kenny Drew (Piano), Paul Chambers (Bass), Philly Joe Jones (drums). Preis-Leistung top

Das Album ist, künstlerisch betrachtet, für Jazz-Fans Pflicht. Der Titel ist Programm.

Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist top. Frontcover und Liner Notes auf der Rückseite sind sauber nachgestaltet. Die Klangqualität ist überraschend gut - besser beispielsweise als Coltranes "Favourite Things" und Art Blakeys "Moaning" aus derselben Reihe. Die Pressung ist sauber, das blaue Vinyl ein Hingucker.

Das Eingangsstück ist ein Klassiker. Überhaupt nicht gefällt mir, dass manche Titel auf meinem CD Player zu schnell beginnen. Außerdem frag ich mich, warum es keine Verankerung für das booklet gib.
