Streichquartett F-Dur
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Nach den hochgelobten zwei CDs mit Veröffentlichungen der drei „nummerierten“ Streichquartette Brittens legt das Emperor Quartet nun auf der dritten und letzten Folge dieser Serie mit fünf Jugendwerken des Komponisten nach. Der Zeitraum umfasst die Periode vom Streichquartett in F, geschrieben vom vierzehnjährigen Schüler, bis zur sechs Jahre später entstandenen „Simple Symphony“, dem Werk, das Britten den Durchbruch brachte. Diese Werke zeigen die Stilentwicklung des jungen Komponisten, wie er sich vom zunächst großen Einfluss seines Lehrers Frank Bridge löste, wie sein Interesse an Schönberg und Bartók zunahm.
