Ein Sommermärchen op.29
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Jiri Belohlavek und das BBC Symphony Orchestra präsentieren hier zwei weitere sinfonische Dichtungen von Josef Suk (1874-1935). Ein Sommermärchen Op. 29 entstand nach der düsteren Asrael-Sinfonie Op. 27, und fast scheint es so, als ob Suk hier in der Natur Trost und Inspiration gesucht und gefunden hätte. Gleich zu Beginn werden die heilenden Kräfte der Natur gefeiert und auch die übrigen Sätze weisen Verbindungen zur Natur auf, die sich als eine dem Menschen überlegene Kraft darstellt. Wie der Titel bereits andeutet, ist Praga eine Hommage an seine Heimatstadt Prag, welche die wechselvolle Geschichte und die alten Legenden der goldenen Stadt beschreibt.
