Barrie Kosky, einer der innovativsten Opernregisseure unserer Zeit, schafft an der Wiener Staatsoper mit einem sehr jungen Ensemble eine neue Interpretation von Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro: Andrè Schuen und Hanna-Elisabeth Müller in den Rollen des Grafen und der Gräfin Almaviva, Peter Kellner als Figaro, Patricia Nolz als Cherubino. Die Rolle der Susanna wird sowohl von Ying Fang (Schauspiel) als auch von Maria Nazarova (Gesang) interpretiert, da Ying Fang aufgrund einer Stimmbanderkrankung nicht singen konnte. Philippe Jordan dirigiert das Orchester der Wiener Staatsoper und gemeinsam »liefern sie eine ideale Mischung aus eleganter Lyrik und konzentriertem Ausdruck – jede einzelne« (Wiener Zeitung). »Schönheit und Pointiertheit sind auf edelste Weise verbunden.« (Der Standard). »Ein Triumph von Barrie Koskys regietechnischer Brillanz – urkomisch und doch zutiefst einnehmend und nachdenklich stimmend.« (klassik-begeistert. de).
