Drei Hauskomponisten
Auch wenn bis zur ersten Opernaufführung dann doch mehr als ein Jahr vergehen sollte, markiert 1719 das offizielle Geburtsjahr der Royal Academy of Music, Händels erstem Londoner Opernunternehmen, dem wir Meisterwerke wie Giulio Cesare, Ottone oder Rodelinda zu verdanken haben. Neben Händel als musikalischem Leiter wirkten bis 1723 mit Attilio Ariosti und Giovanni Battista Bononcini zwei weitere bekannte Exponenten der italienischen Opera seria als Hauskomponisten. Die Mezzosopranistin Eva Zaïcik stellt hier zusammen mit dem Ensemble Le Consort Musik der drei Meister für die Royal Academy of Music vor und bringt uns so das damals bestehende hohe musikalische Niveau in Erinnerung.
