Divine Impresario ist das Porträt des berühmten Kastraten Nicolò Grimaldi (Nicolini) mit dem US-amerikanischen Countertenor Randall Scotting, begleitet von der Academy of Ancient Music unter Laurence Cummings. Mit Arien und Duetten, die Händel, Porpora, Gasparini, Mancini, Giaj, Broschi und Ariosti für Nicolini geschrieben haben, lässt das Album Musik wiederaufleben, die eng mit seiner Bühnenkarriere in Italien und London verbunden ist. Viele Stücke wurden in neuen Aufführungsfassungen aufgenommen, die auf frühen Quellen basieren. In den Duetten ist auch die Sopranistin Mary Bevan zu hören. Das reizvolle Programm unterstreicht Nicolinis Einfluss als Sänger, Schauspieler und präsentiert ein Repertoire, das die Oper des frühen 18. Jahrhunderts geprägt hat.
