Vivaldis Orlando Furioso eröffnete im Sommer 2017 das 43. Opernfestival in Valle d’Itria – eine nachvollziehbare Wahl, denn diese Barockoper ist ein wahres Fest für die Sinne, mit Höhepunkten wahrer Poesie und Momente voller Staunen.
Regisseur Fabio Ceresa wurde beim opulenten, farbgewaltigen Bühnenbild und den einfallsreich verzierten Kostümen eindeutig von Gustav Klimt inspiriert. Der Dirigent Diego Fasolis leitete das hervorragende Ensemble I Barocchisti mit einem eleganten Touch und seiner unfehlbaren Fähigkeit, aus der Musik jede farbige Nuance herauszuarbeiten.
Die Produktion wurde von Publikum und Kritiken begeistert aufgenommen, vor allem Sonia Prina in der Titelrolle überzeugte mit ihren vokalen wie auch schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten.
