The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

„Das Ganze“ ist die Vertonung von Lord Byrons Manfred, die in Genese und Ausführung als Paradebeispiel musikalischer Romantik gelten darf und auf dieser CD in einer neu adaptierten Fassung zu hören ist. Zwischen den vertonten Nummern (Ouvertüre und 15 weitere Stücke) gibt es in der Originalfassung auch zahlreiche Abschnitte, die dem unbegleiteten Vortrag der Verse Byrons gewidmet sind. Um Manfred als musikdramatische Schöpfung zugänglich zu machen, wurde für die vorliegende Produktion eine Textfassung erarbeitet, die musiklose Sprechtexte mit den Worten eines Erzählers zusammenfasst.
