Das komplette legendäre Konzert
»Live in Paris ’79« von Supertramp gibt es 2015 zum ersten Mal als Doppel-CD mit dem Konzert in voller Länge in Kombination mit den wiederentdeckten Filmaufnahmen auf DVD.
Die Ton- und Filmaufnahmen aus dem Pavillon de Paris nahmen ganz unterschiedliche Wege. Die Filmaufnahmen gerieten in Vergessenheit und galten lange Zeit als verschollen. Das erste Livealbum von Supertramp, die Doppel-LP »Paris«, enthielt nur 16 Stücke des Auftritts.
Die Audiospuren für die neue Doppel-CD »Live in Paris ’79« wurden von den – mit Supertramp bestens vertrauten – Toningenieuren Peter Henderson und Russel Pope neu abgemischt. Die limitierte Spieldauer von zwei Langspielplatten musste dabei nicht mehr berücksichtigt werden.
Die musikalische Qualität der Aufnahmen steht außer Frage. Alle Fans, der keine halben Sachen wollen, sollten hier noch einmal zugreifen.

Diese Live-Show wurde am 29. November 1979 im Pavillon de Paris aufgezeichnet, als die Band auf Tournee war, um ihr Album »Breakfast In America« vorzustellen. Dieses landete in neun Ländern auf Platz 1, wurde für vier Grammy Awards nominiert und gewann sogar zwei. Auf »Live In Paris '79« sind die Hit-Singles »The Logical Song«, »Goodbye Stranger«, »Take The Long Way Home« und »Breakfast In America« neben einer Vielzahl weiterer kultiger Supertramp-Songs zu hören.
