Als The Twang 1999 ihre erste EP mit countryfizierten Popsongs im Eigenverlag herausbrachten, ahnte niemand, dass die Jungs aus Braunschweig gerade eine neue Stilwelle lostraten. The Twang: Pioneers of Countryfication! Mittlerweile hat die Band drei offizielle und drei Tour-only-Alben, eine Live-DVD und mehrere EPs veröffentlicht. Album Nummer vier gibt die weitere Richtung vor: "A Guide To Modern Country Living" überzeugt schon durch sein Artwork, das von Klaus Vormann (Beatles) stammt. Die Songs können da locker mithalten, Coverversionen neuer Hits ("I Kissed A Girl") und alter ("Friday I’m in Love", "Whiter Shade Of Pale") wechseln sich ab. Als Gäste mit dabei: Herb Remington (Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys), Martin Wenk (Calexico), Pedal-Steeler Marty Muse (Robert Earl Keen) sowie der legendäre Country-Gitarrist Johnny Falstaff. "A Guide To Modern Country Living" beweist, dass der Gaul der Countryfizierungen längst nicht totgeritten ist, sondern als kraftstrotzender Mustang über immer neue Territorien galoppiert.
