Augen- und Ohrenzeugen sprechen vom besten britischen Rock-Konzert aller Zeiten. Die atemberaubende Besetzung setzte sich komplett aus Preisträgern des »Silver Clef Awards« zusammen, der jährlich von der »Nordoff-Robbins«-Stiftung für herausragende Leistungen in der britischen Musikindustrie verliehen wird. Sämtliche Künstler traten vollständig ohne Gagen auf, um dieses Wohltätigkeitskonzert zu unterstützen.
Zu den Künstlern des aufsehenerregenden Events zählten unter anderem Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Status Quo, Genesis & Phil Collins, Robert Plant, Cliff Richard & The Shadows, Dire Straits und Tears For Fears.
