Das Album war Teil von Vangelis' Wunsch, den Abstand zwischen Inspiration und Realisierung einer musikalischen Komposition zu verkürzen. Dieser Wunsch wird durch die Entwicklung einer Methode realisiert, die es erlaubt, gleichzeitig zu komponieren, zu arrangieren und aufzunehmen, ohne die Hilfe von Computer-Vorprogrammierung.
Bisher nur als 1LP mit 10 Tracks erhältlich, ist das komplette 12-Track-Album »Direct« von 1988 inklusive »Dial Out« und »Intergalactic Radio Station« nun endlich als 2LP-Set in seiner ganzen Pracht erhältlich! Die 35th Anniversary Edition dieses 2LP-Sets ist auf 1500 einzeln nummerierte Exemplare auf transparent-blauem Vinyl limitiert und enthält ein 8-seitiges Booklet mit Liner Notes.
