Anlässlich seines 30-jährigen Jubiläums veröffentlicht, enthält »Maxinquaye (Reincarnated)« Raritäten und brandneue Versionen von Tracks, von denen viele noch nie offiziell veröffentlicht wurden. Das Super-Deluxe-Triple-LP-Set und die Doppel-CD enthalten sechs neue »Reincarnated«-Versionen von Tracks, die Tricky 2022 aufgenommen hat, bisher unveröffentlichte BBC-Session-Tracks, die im Herbst 1995 mit einer kompletten Live-Band aufgenommen wurden, sowie »Black Steel«, das im selben Jahr live in Glastonbury gespielt wurde, und schließen mit einigen rauen Monitor-Mixes ab.
Das Album hat ein brandneues Artwork, das das einzige bekannte Foto von Tricky mit seiner verstorbenen Mutter zeigt, nach der das Album benannt ist. Das Bild wurde kürzlich von seinem Cousin entdeckt.
