Gitarrenlastige Blueshommage von The Wave Pictures
Nachdem The Wave Pictures im letzten Jahr gleich zwei Kollaborationsalben zusammen mit Stanley Brinks alias André Herman Düne und Billy Childish herausbrachten, präsentiert das Londoner Trio 2016 einen neuen eigenen Longplayer. »Bamboo Diner In The Rain« ist bereits ihre 18. Platte.Insgesamt zehn neues Songs haben Dave Tattersall (Gitarre, Gesang), Jonny Helm (Schlagzeug) und Franic Rozycki (Bass) dafür aufgenommen – eine bluesige und gitarrenlastige Kombination aus Instrumental- und Gesangsstücken, die mal mehr in Richtung John Lee Hooker und Howlin’ Wolf, mal in Richtung Surfrock tendiert.
Wie das klingt, haben The Wave Pictures bereits im September und Oktober gezeigt – mit den Auskopplungen »The Running Man« und »Pool Hall«.
The Wave Pictures erweitern 2016 ihr ohnehin schon stattliches Gesamtwerk mit einem weiteren Highlight: »Bamboo Diner In The Rain«.
