Einer der besten britischen Songwriter der letzten vier Jahrzehnte, dessen Songs von Künstlern wie Prince (der zwei verschiedene Arrangements von Scotts Klassiker »The Whole Of The Moon« anfertigte), Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, Steve Earle und Ellie Goulding, die 2013 mit »How Long Will I Love You« einen Top 3- Hit feierte, gecovert und/oder aufgenommen wurden.
