Die britischen Folkrocker The Waterboys melden sich 2017 mit einer neuen Platte zurück. »Out Of All This Blue« ist ein Doppelalbum und der Nachfolger von »Modern Blues« aus dem Jahr 2015.
Das Album besteht aus insgesamt 23 Songs, die sich laut Sänger, Gitarrist und Pianist Mike Scott zu zwei Dritteln Liebe und Romantik, zu einem Drittel Geschichten und Beobachtungen thematisieren.
Neben der Doppel-CD und einer Doppel-LP gibt es »Out Of All This Blue« auch als Deluxe-Edition mit drei CDs bzw. LPs. Die jeweilige Bonusscheibe enthält weitere Stücke, Instrumental- und Alternativversionen, Livesongs und neue Mixe.
Aufgenommen haben The Waterboys das neue Album in Dublin und Tokyo. Für die Produktion zeichnete Scott selbst verantwortlich. Einen ersten Vorgeschmack gab die Band bereits im Juli mit der Single »If The Answer Is Yeah«.
Und die zeigt: The Waterboys sind 2017 in grooviger Bestform. Ob man dem neuen Album »Out Of All This Blue« also eine Chance geben sollte? Die Antwort lautet Yeah!
