The Strumbellas, ursprünglich aus dem kleinen Ort Lindsay in der Provinz Ontario, haben sich 2009 mit ihrer selbstbetitelten EP erstmals einen Namen in ihrer Heimat gemacht.
Das kanadische Radio CBC erklärte die 6 Musiker zu einer »Band To Watch«, die ersten ausverkauften Konzerte und Sommerfestivals folgten. 2012 erschien das Debütalbum »My Father The Hunter«, welches eine Nominierung für die prestigeträchtigen JUNO Awards in ihrer Heimat einbrachte.
Mit dem ein Jahr später veröffentlichten zweiten Album »We Still Move On The Dancefloors« konnten die Strumbellas dann gleich 6 Awards bei diversen Preisverleihungen einheimsen (u. a. »Folk Group Of The Year« & »Music's Rising Star«).
2015 entstand gemeinsam mit dem Produzenten Dave Schiffman (Johnny Cash, Haim, Weezer) aus Los Angeles das neue Album »Hope« mit insgesamt 11 brandneuen Songs, welches nun erscheint.
