Die Spotnicks wurden von Lead Gitarrist Bo Winberg 1958 in Göteborg gegründet. Wiberg interessierte sich ähnlich wie Joe Meek für Elektronik und Rock'n'Roll. Er spielte schon bei einem Konzert 1962 in Paris kabellos aus dem Publikum heraus (beim Umschalten der Kanäle soll angeblich der Pariser Polizeifunk aus der PA der Band zu hören gewesen). Windberg bewunderte die Multi-Tracking-Techniken des Meistergitarristen Les Paul. Für ihn stellte sich die Frage, wie er solche Innovationen auf seine eigene Musik anwenden könnte. Dieses 2CD-Set enthält 35 Tracks von den Spotnicks, und da Instrumentalmusik nicht so schnell altert wie Vokalmusik, klingen einige der Stücke immer noch ziemlich futuristisch.
