Für das Album konnte Tony Visconti (Bowie, T. Rex) als Produzent verpflichtet werden. ›Ghostown‹ wurde 1978 veröffentlicht und musikalisch bewegte sich die Band mit diesem zweiten Album nach ›TV Tube Heart‹ stärker in Richtung New Wave und Mainstream.
Das Album gilt unter Kritikern als eins der definitiven irischen Alben neben Van Morrisons ›Astral Weeks‹. 50er und 60er Referenzen treffen auf irischer Historie die in den Texten verarbeitet wird.
Also ähnlich so, wie es Radiators-Sänger Philip Chevron auch später bei den Pogues tat. Limitierte 40th Anniversary Edition als Doppel-LP mit insgesamt 10 Bonustracks! 180 Gr., Clear Vinyl und bedruckte Inner Sleeves!
