The Delfonics sind ein R&B und Soul-Trio, das ursprünglich aus den Brüdern William Hart, Wilbert Hart und Randy Cain bestand. Die Combo wurde mit ihrem, für den Philly Soul-Sound typischen, hohen männlichen Stimmharmonien berühmt.
Einer ihrer kultigsten Hits war Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time), der auf diesem, ihrem selbstbetitelten 3. Album, veröffentlicht wurde. Es war der einzige Delfonics-Longplayer, der in den Billboard 200-Charts die Top 100 erreichte. Es wird häufig als das kompletteste Album und als Karriere-Höhepunkt angesehen.
Neben Didn't I waren 4 Auskopplungen der Platte in den zwei Jahren nach der Veröffentlichung erfolgreiche Hit-Singles. Deren glatte Grooves und die Intensität des Albums prägten den berühmten Sound der Combo nachhaltig. The Delfonics ist ein Muss für jeden Musikfan.
