Sisters von The Bluebells ist eine perfekte Momentaufnahme des Sounds des jungen Schottlands der frühen 80er: Glasgower Indie-Pop mit bittersüßem Temperament, scharfen Hooks und gefühlvollen Harmonien.
Mit der Zusammenarbeit mit einer Reihe angesehener Produzenten (darunter Elvis Costello, der zum Mentor und Lehrer der Band wurde) feierten The Bluebells in den 1980er Jahren drei britische Hits (Cath, Young At Heart und I’m Falling), bevor sie ausgedehnte Tourneen durch Europa und Nordamerika unternahmen, ihren Live-Sound entwickelten.
Ein Jahrzehnt später, 1993, erreichte Young At Heart nach seiner Verwendung als Fernsehwerbung für Volkswagen Platz 1 der britischen Charts. Springen wir in dieses Jahrzehnt: The Bluebells haben sich in den letzten zwei Jahren mit zahlreichen Konzerten neu formiert, darunter eine triumphale Rückkehr nach Glasgow im Barrowlands für Celtic Connects.
Zudem gab es einen Auftritt auf der Acoustic Stage beim Glastonbury Festival 2025.
