Einfach hören,

Musik die ich auch, 53 Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung, sehr gerne höre.
Eines der wenigen Werke das ich mir jetzt auch als CD gekauft habe, für die Abende an denen es mir zu viel ist alle 30 minuten die LP zu wechseln.
Für diejenigen die beim Anspielen der Stücke neugierig geworden sind,-
einfach bestellen, hören und geniesen.

The Band 'Music from Big Pink' 50th anniversary box set:

Hello: having already reviewed my previous purchase (The Band 2nd lp 50th anniversary box set) with a 5 star rating in all aspects, this set gets more of the same: 5 stars for music, sound and press quality, and 5+ stars for the super bomb-proof postal packaging (well, I exaggerate). But that's how happy I am with the whole purchase, and the prompt service and competitive price.Can't speak highly enough, would recommend you (jpc) to anyone. Thanks again, Graham Edwards. P.S. the surround sound 5.1 is superb, why reviewers on Amazon rubbished this I don't know (hearing problems?).

Geniales Set in miserabler Pressqualität

Tierisch gefreut, als dieses Set hier von JPC zum Sensationspreis angeboten wurde und natürlich direkt bestellt. "Big Pink" ist eines DER fünf Alben der Rockgeschichte. Begeisterung dann auch beim Auspacken, das sieht alles ausgesprochen edel aus, die Fotos, das Booklet, ein weiteres Gatefold-Cover, das Bluray, CD und Single enthält. Alles vom Feinsten. Dann die Ernüchterung, als es zu den 45 rpm LPs kommt, für die ich dieses Set überhaupt gekauft habe: Zwei Platten sind in Sleeve gequetscht. Die Hüllen sehen entsprechend aus. Keine Freude. Beim Abspielen dann die Ernüchterung: Die Platten sind so verbogen/gewellt, dass der Abnehmer darauf Rhumba tanzt. Kann man das tolerieren? Bei einer 5 € LP aus dem Plattenladen: Ja. Bei diesem Set: Nein. Also Ersatzlieferung. Muss ich viel zur Ersatzlieferung sagen? Nein, also Nachricht an JPC, ob sie ggf. (unbewusst) eine beschädigte Charge verhökern? Ein zweites Mal zurück. Dann die Nachricht, dass auch weitere Sets diesen Fehler aufweisen. Was für eine Enttäuschung. Aber so ist es, wenn man am falschen Ende spart. Leider muss ich sagen: Keine Empfehlung, es sei denn für Leute, denen die LPs ohnehin egal sind.
