Jede Zeit hat ihre Helden, jede Szene ihre Legenden. Die 80er hatten die Stray Cats, heute unumstrittene Ikonen des Neo-Rockbilly. Als das US-Trio erstmals in seiner Wahlheimat England an die Spitze der Charts stürmte, regierte im Vereinigten Königreich noch der Punk.
Doch Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom und Lee Rocker brachten das gewisse Etwas mit, das auch die Iro-Träger packte: ein Gefühl von Gefahr und Rebellion. Beindruckende Bilddokumente dieser Zeit sind zwei Auftritte in Deutschland, die 1981 in Köln und 1983 auf der Loreley vom WDR Rockpalast mitgeschnitten wurden. Unverfälschte Aufnahmen, die die Faszination des Trios auch heute noch greifbar machen. Beide Konzerte erscheinen nun erstmals in guter Bildqualität und mit hervorragendem Sound auf DVD und CD. Endlich sind die Stray Cats zuhause so erlebbar, wie sie am besten waren: jung, roh und wild!
