Santanas Latin-Rock-Revival in Bild und Ton
Mit »Santana IV« veröffentlichte der legendäre Latin-Rocker Anfang 2016 nach 45 Jahren ein neues Album mit seiner alten Band, bestehend aus Gregg Rolie (Keyboard, Gesang), Neal Schon (Gitarre), Michael Carabello (Percussion) und Michael Shrieve (Schlagzeug).
Und nicht nur das: Am 21. März brachte er die Band bei einem Reunionkonzert erstmals seit 1973 wieder auf einer Bühne zusammen. Mit »Santana: Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas« gibt es jetzt einen Mitschnitt dieser Performance, und zwar in Bild und Ton.
Der Name verrät es bereits, das Konzert fand im berühmten House Of Blues in Las Vegas statt. Neben Carlos Santana und seiner Band waren zudem noch weitere prominente Gäste geladen: der Perkussionist und Sänger Karl Perazzo, Bassist Benny Rietveld und Keyboarder David K. Mathews. Außerdem stand niemand Geringeres als Ronald Isley von den Isley Brothers bei zwei Songs am Mikrofon.
Insgesamt 19 Lieder spielte die Band an diesem Abend, darunter Klassiker wie »Soul Sacrifice«, »Black Magic Woman« und »Oye Como Va«. Außerdem gab es Hits vom neuen Album, zum Beispiel »Love Makes The World Go Round«, »Yambu«, »Come As You Are« und »Freedom In Your Mind«.
»Santana: Live At The House Of Blues, Las Vegas« ist in verschiedenen Formaten erhältlich: als DVD und Blu-ray Disc, als Set aus Doppel-CD und DVD sowie als 180-g-LP.
