Das fröhliche, selbstbetitelte Debüt dieser Band aus Miami aus dem Jahr 1991 deckte alle Bereiche des Alternative und Heavy Metal. Zwischen klassischen Metal-Songs wie »Coming Home« und »Ugly« bietet Saigon Kick alles von Grunge-Punk (»What Do You Do«, »Acid Rain«) bis hin zu Power-Balladen (»Love of God«) bis hin zu ein paar ziemlich lustigen Popsongs (das neurotische »My Life« und das homoerotische »Down by the Ocean«).
Da es in der »toten Zone« der frühen 90er Jahre für Vinyl erschien, wurde Saigon Kick ursprünglich nur in Europa auf LP erschienen.
