1970 gründeten Freddie Mercury, Brian May und Roger Taylor die Band Queen. Bereits drei Jahre später nahmen sie ihre erste BBC-Session für John Peels Radiosendung »Sounds of the ’70s« auf. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere folgten noch viele weitere BBC-Sessions.
