Vor drei Jahren starb R’n’B-, Funk- und Soullegende Prince. Neben seiner eigenen eindrucksvollen Diskografie zeichnete der Musiker und Songwriter auch für zahlreiche Kompositionen für andere Künstler verantwortlich.
Ein paar dieser Songs widmet sich 2019 die Kompilation »Originals«.
Insgesamt 15 Tracks aus Prince’ persönlichem Archiv umfasst die Sammlung. 14 dieser Aufnahmen wurden bislang nie veröffentlicht. Troy Carter vom The Prince Estate und Rapper Jay-Z wählten eben diese Stücke für »Originals« aus.
