Das Album »Nils Lofgren« featured das talentierte Trio bestehend aus Nils Lofgren an Gitarre und Gesang, Aynsley Dunbar an den Drums und Wornell Jones am Bass. Die Veröffentlichung von 1975 brachte ein paar Klassiker hervor wie »Back It Up«, »If I Say It, It's So«, »Can't Buy A Break« und die Homage an Keith Richards »Keith Don't Go (Ode to the Glimmer Twin)«.
Ein außergewöhnliches Cover von Carole Kings »Goin’ Back« zählt ebenfalls zu den Höhepunkten.
