Abominable Showman von Nick Lowe wurde mit seiner Tour-Band nach Rockpile, Noise to Go, aufgenommen. Nach dem Entwurf von Rockpile hat auch diese Band mit dem einstigen Ace-Frontmann Paul Carrack einen zweiten Lead-Sänger. Noise to Go wirkten an dem von Lowe produzierten Carrack-Album Suburban Voodoo (sowie bei dem Duett dieses Albums Wish You Were Here) mit.
Die Band spielt sowohl harten, treibenden Rock &Roll, als auch gefühlvollen Pop, was man an dem Opener Raging Eyes und in vollem Ausmaß bei dem Pop-Soul-Song Time Wounds All Heels klar erkennt. In den USA spielte die Band im Vorprogramm von The Cars und Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Live-Tracks davon sind auf der Bonus-EP von Clevelands Agora enthalten.
