Der Sänger, Gitarrist und Hammond-Spieler Lucky Peterson stammt aus Buffalo im US-Bundesstaat New York und gilt als einer der authentischsten Vertreter des Blues, da er mit dessen mündlicher Überlieferung und dessen Geschichte bestens vertraut ist und ihn singt und spielt, wie so schnell kein anderer. Mit starken eigenen Kompositionen und Cover-Versionen von Stücken u. a. von Stevie Ray Vaughan, Wilson Pickett und Johnny Nash begeisterte er vergangenes Jahr Tausende bei der Eröffnung des berühmten Jazzfestivals in Marciac im Südwesten Frankreichs.

Als Souvenir erscheinen nun auf CD und DVD 14 Stücke dieses denkwürdigen Konzerts. Peterson, der in der Tradition von BB King und Buddy Guy steht, erhält beim abschließenden »Johnny B. Goode« von Chuck Berry prominente Unterstützung vom großen Rockgitarristen Joe Satriani.
