20 Jahre Lucero wollen gebührend gefeiert werden:
Am 03.08.18 veröffentlicht die Band aus Memphis, Tennessee, ihr neuntes Studioalbum "Among the Ghosts". Aufgenommen wurde im legendären Sam Phillips Recording Service Studio in ihrer Heimatstadt. Als Koproduzent und Engineer saß der Grammy Gewinner Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Drive-by Truckers) an den Reglern. Die zehn neuen Songs auf "Among the Ghosts" wurden erneut von Kopf und Sänger Ben Nichols geschrieben.

Im Gegensatz zum Vorgänger verzichtete das Quintett dieses Mal auf die großen Arrangements und die Memphisstyled Horn Sections und konzentriert sich mehr auf die rockigere Seite der Band. Nichols und seine Bandmates Brian Venable (guitar), Roy Berry (drums), John C. Stubblefield (bass) und Rick Steff (keyboards) veredeln ihren Mix aus Blues, Rock, Country, Gospel und R&B weiter. Die Spoken Words auf "Back To The Night" spricht niemand geringeres als Michael Shannon, Schauspieler im Film "Among The Ghosts".
