Die Local Natives kündigen ihr neues Album »Violet Street« an. Die grundlegende Frage, die über den ersten zwei Singleauskopplungen »When Am I Gonna Lose You« und »Café Amarillo« sowie den weiteren acht neuen Tracks steht, lautet: »With all the chaos in the world, where do you find shelter?«

This song is me diving into murky emotions of anxiety and doubt in the middle of love and joy.«
»Violet Street« als Gesamtkonzept vereint ein klassisches Studioumfeld, eine sehr moderne Produktion und aufwändigen Visuals. Das Ergebnis ist ein zeitloses Album, welches die für die Band charakteristischen, dreistimmigen Harmonien nicht vermissen lässt.
Das in Los Angeles ansässige Quintett entwickelte seinen glückseligen Klang in drei Alben Gorilla Manor (2009), Hummingbird (2013) und Sunlit Youth (2016). Letzteres erhielt überschwängliches Lob vom FADER, Consequence of Sound, The Guardian.
