»Voice Of America« ist das zweite Soloalbum von Little Steven & The Disciples Of Soul, das am 7. Mai 1984 veröffentlicht wurde.
Dieses Album tauschte die Bläser und die R & B-Einflüsse der früheren »Men Without Women« gegen einen rohen Garagen-Rock-Sound ein. Die Politik trat in den lyrischen Vordergrund, wobei das allgemeine Thema der Widerstand gegen die amerikanische Außenpolitik der Ronald-Reagan-Ära war.

»Out of the Darkness«, eine synthesizelastige Hymne mit mitreißender Arenarock-Atmosphäre, wurde sowohl im Airplay als auch auf MTV gespielt und war im Konzert sehr wirkungsvoll, während das etwas weichere und beschwörende »Checkpoint Charlie« ebenfalls im Radio gespielt wurde. »Los Desaparecidos« wurde als wirksamer Protestsong im Namen der Opfer des staatlich geförderten gewaltsamen »Verschwindenlassens« in Südamerika in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren gelobt.
