Das erste Album des mexikanischen Duos wurde von Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (Mars Volta) produziert, und auf dessen Label verlegt. Die Band gewann die direkt zwei Preise bei den »Indie-O Awards« 2009 (»Best New Artist«; »Best Punk Record«). Die Butcherettes eröffneten für die Yea Yeah Yeas und Dead Weather in Mexico, und Mike Patton’s Ipecac-Label nahm sie schlussendlich unter Vertrag.
Jetzt also »Cry Is For Flies«, das brandneue Album von dem LA Weekly sagt: »das bislang beste Indie-Album des Jahres«. Henry Rollins (bei »Moment Of Guilt«) und Shirley Manson (bei ‘Shame, You’re All I’ve Got) sind an Bord.
