Ihre schnörkellose Mixtur aus Newsom-Verschrobenheit, deren stimmliche Verwandtschaft zu Jessica Pratt verblüffend ist, Olsen-Melancholie und mit einer Verletzlichkeit, die stark an Vashti Bunyan erinnert, löste schon eine hypnotische Wirkung aus.
»On Your Own Love Again« entstand in Kollaboration mit Will Canzoneri (Cate Le Bon, Darker My Love), der es auch abmischte, und wurde gänzlich im intimen Rahmen von Pratts Wohnung aufgenommen. Die neun Songs sind sehr verspielt, mit vielen kompositorischen und textlichen Facetten, und sie bieten tiefe Einblicke in die fantastische Welt von Jessica Pratt an.
Das Album zeigt ihre außergewöhliche Pop-Sensibilität, aber auch viel Musikalität und Humor. Ein heißer Tipp für alle Fans von Joanna Newsom, Vashti Bunyan und Dawn McCarthy!
