Sophia, das Indiepop-Projekt von Sänger, Multiinstrumentalist und Produzent Robin Proper-Sheppard, veröffentlicht 2020 sein neues Album »Holding On/Letting Go«.Es handelt sich dabei um das mittlerweile achte Studioalbum der Band, den Nachfolger von »As We Make Our Way« aus dem Jahr 2016.
Und »Band« trifft dieses Mal wieder genau zu, denn erstmals seit 1996 sind Sophia auf »Holding On/Letting Go« tatsächlich in voller Bandbesetzung zu hören.
10 Songs hat das Kollektiv, das derzeit neben Proper-Sheppard aus Jeff Townsin (Schlagzeug/Percussion), Sander Verstraete (Bass/Moog), Jesse Maes (Gitarre) und Bert Vliegen (Keyboard/Synthesizer) besteht, für die Platte aufgenommen. Dazu gehört »Alive«, die erste Single von »Holding On/Letting Go«.
Und die macht definitiv Lust auf mehr: mehr Indiepop, mehr poetische Lyrics, mehr Melancholie und mehr melodieverliebte Songs. Oder einfach: mehr Sophia.
