Das Debütalbum der Rockband, die ihre Songs im Harry Potter-Universum verortet Harry and the Potters sind die erste Zauberer-Rockband. Sie spielen ausschließlich Songs über die Harry-Potter-Bücher. Die Band besteht aus den Brüdern Joe und Paul DeGeorge.
Seit 2002 haben Harry und die Potters über 800 Shows in Bibliotheken, Rockclubs, Kunsträumen, Buchhandlungen, Kellern und Veranstaltungsorten aller Altersgruppen auf der ganzen Welt aufgeführt. Ihre energiegeladene Liveshow ist legendär geworden. Das Pitchfork-Magazin platzierte die Band in ihrer Liste der besten Live-Shows des Jahres 2005. Die Band bedient nach wie vor eine bizarre Nische.
Ihr DIY-Punk-Ethos lässt dieses eines Mainstream-Kulturphänomen auf ganz neue Weise wirken. Harry und die Potters erfreuen sich auch hierzulande zunehmender Beliebtheit, nachdem die Band in den USA vor allem in Genre-Fankreisen bereits etabliert ist.
