Aktuell erlebt die härtere Rock-Musik ein Revival des Postpunks und frühen Goth-Rocks der späten 70er und frühen 80er. Ob Metal-Bands wie Tribulation, In Solitude und Secrets Of The Moon oder Rockbands wie Dool, Wovenhand oder die aus Beastmilk hervor gegangenen Grave Pleasures, anno 2017 sind Einflüsse von Joy Division, The Cure, Bowies Berliner Jahren, Killing Joke, Fields Of The Nephilim und Magazine wieder präsenter und resultieren in hochspannenden, trotz aller Düsternis eingängigen Alben. "Motherblood", der rohere, apokalyptischere Nachfolger zum 2015 veröffentlichten Debüt "Dreamcrash" ist ein Paradebeispiel für diese Entwicklung und bietet einen "hämisch grinsenden Tanz des Todes", wie Sänger Mat McNerney (Hexvessel, ex-Beastmilk/DHG/Code) treffend formuliert.
Aufgenommen mit Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Ulver, Paradise Lost) und mit Gast-Vocals von David Tibet (Current 93) entstanden wahre Ohrwürmer mit Widerhaken und ominöser Atmosphäre.
