Bob Thiele (Flying Dutchman) ermöglichte ihm 1970 sein erstes Album aufzunehmen. Als der Sänger 1974 zu Arista wechselte und mit »The Bottle« einen großen Hit landen konnte, wurde diese Best Of seiner Flying Dutchman-Jahre veröffentlicht!
