Blu-ray AudioThe Blu-ray Audio Disc (also Pure Audio Blu-ray) is technically a normal Blu-ray Disc and can be played on any Blu-ray player. However, it does not contain any video content. The high storage capacity is used for high-resolution audio data (stereo and surround, up to 24 bit/192 kHz). It is operated either without a screen like a conventional CD or via the onscreen menu like a normal Blu-ray disc.

Sensationeller Klassiker
Mit »Over-Nite Sensation« feiert einer der absoluten Klassiker im reichhaltigen Katalog von Frank Zappa in diesem Jahr seinen 50. Geburtstag.
Dank seiner rockigen Ausrichtung und den übersichtlichen Songs wurde das Album für viele Fans zum Einstieg in die Zappa-Welt. Hier änderte sich die musikalische Ausrichtung von »The Mothers«, denn Frank übernahm den Großteil des Gesangs und war der einzige Gitarrist. Es war eine neue Band und ein neuer Sound, der aber die »alten« Zappa-Fans nicht vergraulte. So wurde »Over-Nite Sensation« in den USA zum ersten echten Hit-Album der Band, stieg in die Charts ein und wurde 1976 schließlich mit einer Goldenen Schallplatte ausgezeichnet.
Auch 50 Jahre später ist das Album immer noch eines der Highlights im Zappa-Katalog und ein absoluter Dauerbrenner bei den Fans.
